Costa Rica is a small mountainous country on the narrow Central American isthmus, with its ever changing panorama of steaming volcanoes, forested mountains, countryside and coasts. The government's policies try to mantain ecological tourism, looking toward the conservation of its diverse array of tropical ecosystems. "Ticos" (costa ricans) invest in medicine research and all kinds of studies (and they are very proud to affirm there are more teachers than policemen!) and are involved in social solidarity activities.
They don't have their own army. The country has many microclimates due to the heterogeneity of its land and its diverse characteristics. The Caribbean Coast has almost the same temperature all year long, and it is generally hot and humid. With its tropical climate, it is not possible to anticipate when rain comes. Thanks to its particular climate, vegetation here grows luxuriantly. You are into the rainforest! Costa Rica's currency is the colon ( 1 Costa Rican colon = 0.00198 U.S.Dollars – please look at daily currency exchange ), but US Dollars are accepted everywhere.
The Caribbean Coast and the Pacific Coast are virtually two different countries. The Pacific Coast is more developped with big tourism and Resorts. Going to the Caribbeans is like stepping back in time and slowing down the pace to something more sane. People are amazing and go out of your way to welcome you. Many people speak enough English to converse. 'La Perla del Caribe' has been created with an idea of full comfort into the jungle, with enormous respect and love for nature: a new conception of accommodation in this area. Affording bumpy gravel roads you’ll come to a natural environnement to join a laid back lifestyle and incredible wildlife, without sacrificing a wonderful sleep and pleasant stay!
